Unless otherwise stated, actions are to be undertaken by the clerk.
24.192. Apologies for absence were received from Cllrs Booth, Cook and Mills
24.193. There were no declarations of interest or considerations for dispensation.
24.194. Public Representations – There were no members of the public present.
24.195. Correspondence.
Cllrs received Cllr Scarlett’s email that asked for the positioning of the play park to be re-considered. The site was discussed in terms of the best use of space by a variety of park users. It was agreed that whilst the park may benefit being nearer the car park this would compromise the space needed for football – there needed to be at least 10m from the pitches to the play area. It was agreed that only the park equipment for under 7’s would be fenced, and the play area would remain in its current location. The under 7’s area would be placed to include the existing cradle swing.
Councillors discussed the CCTV in the park which was not currently in operation. Given the amount of investment in the area it was thought that this needed to be in place and could be delivered as part of the Pavilion scheme.
24.196. Propellor Service
Councillors agreed that the service was well attended and thanked Mrs Croxford for the hard work she had put into organising the successful event again this year.
24.197. It was resolved to move into closed session in accordance with the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960 s.1(2).
24.198. Tenders for the under 7’s new play equipment
i. Councillors considered 6 tenders for the new play area; all information had been circulated a week before the meeting. Each design was considered in turn and relative merits considered. It was unanimously resolved to accept the tender from Wicksteed as this contained the most pieces of equipment, affording more variety and play opportunities. They considered that this offered the best value for the money available. It was agreed to include an extra gate, use existing bin and seat, have a galvanised fence and swap the shop, bridge and stepping stone for a see-saw.
ii It was agreed to delegate to the Chair and Clerk to finalise the contract and make the orders to go ahead with the project.
Iii Councillor Brewis thanked everyone for their work on the project.
The chair closed the meeting at 20.15 hrs.
