Minutes of a meeting of the Allotments Committee held 18:00hrs, Tuesday, 11 July 2023, in the Bridge Room at the Curlew Centre, Sutton Bridge.
Present: Cllr M Landy, Cllr A Landy (from 18:05hrs), Cllr Mclaughlin, Cllr Perkins, Cllr Philpott, Mr Smith, Mrs Croxford.
Observing: Cllr A Landy (until 18.05hrs), Cllr Middleton (from 18:46hrs).
23.001.It was resolved to elect Cllr Mclaughlin as chair for 2023-24.
23.002.There were no apologies.
23.003.There were no declarations of interest or requests for dispensation.
23.004.It was resolved to approve the minutes of the meeting held 11 April 2023.
23.005.It was resolved to elect Cllr A Landy onto the committee
23.006.It was resolved to adopt the committee’s terms of reference, amending items 5 and 11.
23.007.The next allotment inspection was scheduled for 22 July 2023 11am until 12pm at the Wright’s Lane and 12.30pm onwards at the Westbank.
23.008.Provision of additional allotments
01.For the clerk to start to plot out the provision for the new allotments, it was resolved for the committee to determine and mark out the end boundary line of the existing plots.
18:46hrs Cllr Middleton entered the meeting.
23.009.It was resolved to remain in open session.
18:52 hrs Cllr Mills entered the meeting.
23.010.Individual Allotments
01.Following a request for additional security to be installed on the allotments, it was resolved that it would be more beneficial for tenants to adequately provide individual security to their own property.
02.The committee would investigate the overgrown allotment at the inspection on the 22 July 2023 and report back at the next meeting.
23.011.It was resolved to hold the next meeting on the 05 September 2023 at 18:00hrs.
The chair closed the meeting at 18:58 hrs.
