25.060. Playzone Project
01. The chair reported that the build was scheduled for April/May next year and would take 14 weeks to complete. The Committee discussed the change in orientation to sit alongside the pitches. The committee were consulted about the change and asked to make a decision quickly so that the planning process would not be held up. No objections were raised, and it was agreed to ratify the decision to change the orientation as suggested by the Football Foundation contractors.
25.061. Temporary Pavilion
01. This building was still being chased up, the hauliers had the contact details for the crane company, and it was hoped that the building would be transported soon. It would be positioned to the left of the gate as you enter the field before the tree.
25.062. Pavilion Project
01. MM reported that a teams meeting with the Football Foundation had been held, Cllr McLaughlin and the clerk also attended. The meeting discussed the Playzone first which seemed to be on track. The second part of the meeting regarding the Pavilion was more difficult. As this was the first time SBPC representatives had met with the new team at the FF Cllr Middleton outlined the history of the project and that previous FF team members had thought funding of £250k might be available. In further discussions, this had then gone down to £150K. The new FF representative, Andy Wadsworth informed SBPC that only £25K was available and that there was a maximum of £50k. The FF thought that a changing facility could be delivered for £150k and agreed to share contacts of contractors who had built this type of facility before with FF funding. This news was a shock for Pavilion Committee members. Following the teams meeting Cllr Middleton had shared the plans of the pavilion with the FF and would address their comments. She was also in the process of contacting the suggested companies for quotes. She had contacted Sir John to update him and has an appointment to see him 16th December 2025.
02. The clerk shared an email sent to A Wadsworth regarding the meeting expressing disappointment with the suggested grant level and the importance of the project to Sutton Bridge in terms of community, health and wellbeing.
25.063. Date of next meeting 20 January 2026
The chair closed the meeting at 19:40 hrs.
