11 November 2025 Finance Committee
Minutes of the meeting of the Finance Committee held 14:00hrs Tuesday, 11 November 2025 in the Parish Office, Sutton Bridge.
Present: Cllr Scarlett (Chair), Cllr Middleton, Cllr Philpott, Cllr Cook, Cllr Kirby-Fox, Mrs C Smith (Parish Clerk).
25.18 Apologies for Absence - No apologies were received as all members were present.
25.19 Declaration of Interests - There were no declarations of disclosable interests received.
25.20 Minutes - It was resolved to approve the minutes of the meeting held 26 August 2025.
25.21 Quarterly Budget Review
i. The Finance Committee reviewed the Summary Budget report considering each cost centre and budget line in turn. Detailed expenditure was discussed where there was a significant under or overspend. It was noted that after 2 quarters overall payments and receipts remained within budget. There was a significant overspend on tree maintenance, but this was accepted as necessary for health and safety. No general grants had been made this year, and it was hoped that this underspend would cover most of the tree overspend.
It was unanimously resolved to accept the budget review and to continue the same budget for the remainder of the year.
25.22 Budgeting Priorities for 2026/27 draft budget.
i. The Committee discussed the parameters for setting next years budget and precept. It was agreed that inflation would be allowed for at 4%. A new cost centre for the Playzone would be added to the accounts. Budgets and priorities to be included in the draft budget CCTV in the Park, Trees, Lime Street and Princes St maintenance.
25.23 Date and Time of Next Meeting – 12th January 2026 1pm in the parish office.
There being no other business, the chair closed the meeting at 3.30pm.
