Minutes of the meeting of the Personnel Committee held 16.15hrs Thursday, 14 August 2025 held in the Parish Office at the Curlew Centre.

Present: Cllr Judd, Cllr McLaughlin, Cllr Pitt (Chair), Cllr Kirby-Fox, Cllr Scarlett ,C Smith (Clerk)

Under the Personnel Committee’s terms of reference, the meeting was opened under closed session due to reasons of confidentiality, in accordance with the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960 s.1(2). (18)

25.07. Election of Chair and Vice Chair – Cllr Pitt was elected chair and Cllr McLaughlin was elected vice chair for the coming year.

25.08. There were no apologies all Councillors were present.

25.09. There were no declarations of disclosable interest.

25.10. It was resolved to approve the minutes of the meeting held 11 February 2025.

25.11. Update on Staff.

01. Councillors agreed to follow the recruitment model put in place when a temporary appointment was made in 2024. The position would be advertised locally on social media. Shortlisting would be done by Cllrs Pitt, Kirby-Fox and Scarlett, and the clerk. The interviews would be held with Cllr Kirby-Fox and the Clerk. 

02. No other concerns with staff were reported.

25.12. Staff appraisals – two Councillors had responded to the appraisal review for the Clerk and Admin Assistant.

01.  The appraisal for the admin assistant had taken place and all was satisfactory. The Clerks appraisal would be conducted by Cllrs Pitt and Mclaughlin

25.13. Office window – it was noted that the posters in the office window needed to be kept up to date.

There being no other business, the chair closed the meeting at 18.45 hrs.
