Minutes of the meeting of the Personnel Committee held 14:00hrs Thursday, 13 August 2026 held in the Parish Office at the Curlew Centre.
Present:Cllr Scarlett, Cllr Judd, Cllr Brewis, Cllr Philpott Mrs C Smith (Clerk)
Under the Personnel Committee’s terms of reference, the meeting was opened under closed session due to reasons of confidentiality,
in accordance with the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960 s.1(2). (18)
25.28. Election of Chair and Vice-Chair – Cllr Kirby Fox was unanimously elected chair, and Cllr Scarlett was elected Vice-Chair of the Personnel Committee for the coming year.
25.29. Apologies – Cllr Kirby-Fox
25.30. There were no declarations of disclosable interest.
25.31. It was resolved to approve the minutes of the meeting held 16 April 2026.
25.32. Staffing Arrangements.
25.33. PlayZone Co-ordinator – had been appointed, contract had been issued, all conditions had been agreed, and they would be working 10hours a week flexibly.
25.34. Toilet attendant – The committee commended the operative on a good performance, and it was agreed to recommend to full council to continue his employment on a permanent basis. Funds in the general reserve would sustain the post and the costs could be included in the salary budget for next year via precept.
25.35. Outside operative was working well and may need to extend his hours as we have the addition of the Playzone, Princes park and Lime street. We will keep an eye on these and make a recommendation to the budget for next year.
25.36. Admin Assistant continues to be brilliant hard working and conscientious. She had moved to 10 hours a week.
25.37. Clerk had dropped to 28 hours.
25.38. Appraisals – It was agreed that Cllr Kirby-Fox would complete the Clerks appraisal and the clerk would appraise the rest of the staff.
25.39. Overtime – Cllr Brewis requested that the weeding of the hedge be done again. It was agreed the outside operative and toilet attendant would be asked to do the weeding.
There being no other business, the chair closed the meeting at 18:28 hrs.
